Two decades
in the Square Mile

The Gracechurch is operated by Gracechurch Hotel Operator Limited — an independent company that has made its home in the City of London since 2006.

Our Story

A hotel company shaped by its street

Gracechurch Hotel Operator Limited was incorporated in England & Wales on 27 November 2006, taking its name from the street that has carried travellers between London Bridge and the heart of the City for the better part of two thousand years. Gracechurch Street was the medieval route to the corn market at Leadenhall; today it threads between the Bank of England and the glass towers of the eastern City.

That mix — Roman road, medieval market, modern finance — is exactly the character we try to offer under one roof. We are not a grand hotel and do not pretend to be. We are a considered, independent City hotel: quiet rooms, an honest kitchen, and a team that treats hospitality as a craft rather than a script.

From our registered office at One Angel Court, EC2R, we look after leisure guests discovering historic London and the bankers, lawyers, and project teams who keep the Square Mile working.

What We Believe

Four things we won't compromise on

Quiet over grand

The City is loud enough. Our rooms are designed for deep sleep and clear mornings — blackout blinds, solid doors, and not a single unnecessary flourish.

Local knowledge

Our team works in the Square Mile every day. Ask us where to take a client to lunch, which barber to trust, or how to reach Liverpool Street without getting wet.

An honest kitchen

British produce, seasonal menus, and dishes that know what they are. We would rather cook twelve things well than forty things adequately.

Independence

We answer to our guests, not a brand manual. Decisions are made here in the City, by the people you will actually meet at the desk.
